Can Fame And Fortune Make You Happy?Hunter Cooper1/17/175th period "To outsiders, constant attention might seem glamorous, but in reality, it brings an enormous amount of stress for celebrities."I don't think fame and fortune can make someone happy.
Some celebrities crumble or fall apart when it comes to fame and fortune. An example would be Justin Bieber. “By age 16, he was cranking out top chart hits, and earning millions of dollars on sold out concert tours. Lately, however it seem’s like the 22 year old has been spending most of his time apologizing for his bad behavior.” Justin Bieber has been arrested for drunk driving and vandalism. He has also bailed from many shows. A second example would be Shia Labeouf. “Once as star in the hit movie “Transformers” “Labeouf is now known for bizarre public meltdowns, and struggles with drugs and alcohol.” This is just another reason why I would rather be a normal me stuck with everyday things like choirs, regular school, and having friends that I can actually talk to without having to worry about them telling all the people what I said than to be a star like these two guys. The fame really got to Justin and Shia, and I don’t like it at all.
Being a star comes with amazing perks. Some celebrities can hold strong with fame and fortune. Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Will Smith, and Justin Timberlake are just a few to name. "Beyoncé has said that though she likes attention when she’s onstage, she’d be happier if she could “cut it off” when she isn’t performing and just enjoy her life." What Beyonce is saying is she likes when she is up onstage with everybody watching and cheering, but when she is not performing she would like it if people would just let her live her life. Another example would be Jennifer Lawrence. Though she has to deal with a lot of drama she stays strong. “Her phone has been hacked and her looks and eating habits have been criticized in the media.”
Some Universities have studied this problem.“In a study at the University of Rochester in New York, true happiness comes from close relationships. according to Rockwell, “it can be difficult for a celebrity to trust others and to make and keep true friends”. The celebrity lifestyle can make everyday tasks extremely difficult to do. Stars have to wonder if their so called friends like them for the personality they have or not, and it's difficult to do that when you are a star with fame and fortune.
